Wow ….A reminder to remove the bars from dogs that are zealous chewers to ensure the bar lasts longer and they don’t over indulge, offer them as a distraction to chewing for training and as a high reward. With the high Yak Milk content in our bars this is what makes them even more solid and long lasting than others.

No need, take this piece, soak in warm water for 5 minutes then pop in the microwave to puff up for approx 30 seconds depending on its size.

This is likely just cows milk, possibly still containing lactose (ours are lactose free) ours do not crumble.

We suggest you let the dogs have them from a few minutes to 20 mins a day depending on how much they chew, the bar can last from 10 days to 3 months using this method. Much much longer than a small biscuit or meat treat.

Yes as with any treats dogs must be supervised and if there are underlying dental issues this could present a problem the same as it would in humans but these help to keep plaque and tartar under control and stimulate their mental health too!

This is a testament to what a great treat it is! However, letting them eat it in minutes becomes expensive for you and isn’t so good for the dog either. Take it away from them and offer it for just a few minutes of chew time at a time. For example, 3 minutes of chewing is much better than a few seconds of pleasure from a meat treat.

Not all Yak bars are the same! We include no less than 30% Yak’s milk in every bar, unlike nearly all others on the market. Please ask about the contents of the bar before accepting wild claims that they contain 50%+ Yak’s milk, this is rarely the case. This is often why dogs go off them, as they likely contain no Yak’s milk at all, or are made from powdered or other types of milk. Dogs know the difference! Be sure you know what you are buying.

Yak’s milk cheese is one of the hardest cheeses in the world. The higher the concentration in the bar, the less likely it is to break. Breaking usually occurs with bars that haven’t been dried correctly, or that contain only cow’s milk. Cow’s milk without the lactose removed can be very harmful for dogs, ours are lactose-free. Please check what you are buying.
